Conclusion

Men with a desire to make a better home for themselves and their families founded La Grange. Much of the small town atmosphere is still present in La Grange, as is the desire to make the City an even nicer place to live and work. There is a great deal of evidence to suggest that La Grange will continue to flourish as a city in its own right, and as the Fayette County Seat.

Although a thriving tourism trade continues to build in La Grange, many opportunities exist for clever entrepreneurs.  Currently, a sizable consumer demand in the La Grange area goes unsatisfied by local merchants in the Main Street area.  A specialty

sewing shop is needed to fill the gap for high-quality sewing goods.  More eateries and restaurant alternatives need to be added to the existing choices of steak, Chinese, Mexican and fast food.  The hospitality shortfall is in overnight accommodations, but  this has been aided by the of a 48-unit motel east of La Grange completed on business 71 west of downtown, and a Best Western east of La Grange

La Grange an excellent location for new enterprises.  Out for a day-long excursion from Houston or Austin tourists find the historic buildings an extraordinary appeal.  La Grange, Texas could very well be one of the best kept secrets in Texas Tourism!
